Gown MEASURING GUIDELINES for Prom, Bridesmaid, and Wedding Collections:
Please take careful measurements! We do not accept responsibility for the size you select for your gown. If you are in the area, we welcome you to stop in our shop to be measured properly. If you need help deciding what size to order, feel free to call us at 631-277-3362, or email us at MICHELLESofNY@aol.com. We welcome you to call or email us your measurements to help determine proper sizing.
Since we understand the challenge of mail order, we ask that you measure according to the following guidelines:
Please measure wearing the undergarments you plan to wear with your gown. We suggest proper foundation garments be worn with all formal wear.
Please avoid taking measurements over the top of clothing.
The size chart listed is a list of the measurements of the gown, not necessarily your body. If the measurements you have taken match a dress size on the chart exactly, we recommend ordering a size larger so you have room to move. REMEMBER: You will need room to move in the dress! Also, for formal attire, it is best to order a size larger and have alterations to fit properly. We also recommend this as every body shape is different and your seamstress can create the best fit for your shape. We highly recommend you plan on alterations for the best fit.
BUST: Measure around the fullest part of your bust, wearing the the undergarments you plan to wear with your gown.
WAIST: Measure around the smallest section of your waist (your midsection, across where your belly button is), wearing the undergarments you plan to wear with your gown. HIPS: Measure around the fullest part of your hips.
